Of course I have never driven a -67 F1 car :-(
but it you look at some videoclips from the era you will surely notice
the difference.

I've been a GPL fan for years and I'm wondering if there's a modern F1 sim
that's as good or close to the physics model of GPL (hopefuly with more grip).
I've tried MGPRS2 but basically it sucks.Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

you compare to the real thing back in -67 but sure as hell funny to
drive.

I'd recommend EA's F1 Championship Season 2000 -- there's an in-depth
preview on the Blackhole Motorsports site:

Enjoy!

Yeah, those were the days when you drove the real thing back in -67,
thus allowing you to make such statements today ... :)

GP3 is not too bad, but wait for F12000 Championship Season that is to
be released very soon to see how it pans out.

There isn't one.
The small companies that go out on a limb to produce the best code (i.e.
West Bros. of WSC fame!) can't afford the F1 sim license.

If you can wait, the forthcoming sequel to MGPRS2, called something along
the lines of F1 Racing Sim 3 I expect, looks promising. And F1
Championship Season 2000 does as well. But so did Spirit of Speed 1937 when
it was announced...
If you can't wait, GP3 I suppose. Physics aren't anything to write home
about, but it's fun, and the dynamic weather is the best there is.

Nothing yet. I'm not too bothered though as modern F1 isn't that much
fun anyway.
Many of the drivers say they don't really like the cars, and with the
re-introduction of traction control for next year it'll become even more
like slot car racing.

This comment by Jackie Stewart has been blown out of all proportions. What
he said was that he had seen one of his family (grandson, I think it was)
playing GPL and Jackie thought that GPL "didn't model the driving techniques
used in 1967". So he hadn't actually played it himself when he made that
comment.
GPL doesn't model *any* driving techniques, that's up to the driver. And
for all we know, his grandson could have been playing on the keys.
