LOL! Johan

I've been running the ring in an attempt to gain some time. My previous PB was 8:52. Tuesday, I ran 3 laps before bowling - 8:50.70, 8:57.62, 8:51.69 - with at least one screwup each lap. Last night, I ran 5 laps - 9:04.39, 8:52.37, 8:56.77, 9:00.56, 8:56.30 -you guessed it, at least one spin/crash each lap. The thing is, I screw up in a different place every time, so I can't just 'ease' through the problem area. The only duplicates have been Flugplatz, and the right-hander before going under the bridge(don't know the section name. 8 laps between 8:50 and 9:04<argh!> I'd sell my *soul* to gain another 30 seconds... :) Eldred -- Tiger Stadium R.I.P. 1912-1999 Homepage - http://www.umich.edu/~epickett GPL hcp. +45.45 Never argue with an idiot. The problem is bowling, Eldred. The only driving simulation compatable with bowling is a NASCAR sim. ~daxe

hay Eldred, are you staying on the throttle in both those turns? Especially that sweeping left before the bridge I downshift to 4th with a wheel on the left grass and give it plenty of throttle (more the better!), then to 2nd and repeatedly burp the gas to keep the front end pointed into the righthander under the bridge. Same after flugplatz, downshift to 3rd after the jump and get back on gas immediately for the turn. I don't have a clue about trail-braking and couldn't do it anyway on this combined axis T2, but discovering the use of the throttle to steer and get around corners has made GPL immensely more enjoyable for me. I have 3 cars in the 8:23 range now, and next is the Honda !! rms [email hidden]

The back end wants to come around big time at that right-hander as you are heading downhill. If you 'feel' it start to do so then let off the brake quickly and then back on it again. Also if you go in too fast as you start to take the corner and feel the back end coming around too quickly to do anything about then just turn hard right and let the car bleed off some speed as it drifts wide. This should also prevent a spin. Try it. :) -- Peter Ives - (AKA Ivington) Remove ALL_STRESS before replying No person's opinions can be said to be more correct than another's, because each is the sole judge of his or her own experience.
