I plan on getting at least 128 when I upgrade in a couple months. But until then I am stuck with 64. For some reason the game wont let me race at Dover. It crashes everytime I try. Michigan works just fine but unfortunately, superspeedways dont do a thing for me, especially Michigan. I realize that Dover isnt exactly a short track (which is what I really like), but it is closer and I think it would be alot funner. Itll get as far as the garage/replay/race screen but when I go to race it starts to load, then the sound stutters (michigan does this also), and then it crashes to the desk top. my specs are these: Celeron 400 voodoo 5 64 mg ram yamaha sound card any one think of any thing? Wasn't 128meg ram a requirement, maybe that has something to do with it? In article <90670v$frm$[email hidden]>, [email hidden] wrote: > For some reason the game wont let me race at Dover. I dont know , I havent seen the requirements anywhere. I hope that is not it as I would like to race Dover. But, that would probably explain it. How much RAM do you have?? 64 ?? I'd try at least 128 these days. Arclight <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:90670v$frm$[email hidden]... > For some reason the game wont let me race at Dover. Ok, that's why I never saw it. There wasn't a readme in the zipfile, and the install crashed. I just tried it again on one system at work. It has an ATI 3D Rage, and a Pure 3D(Canopus). I tried both D3D and OpenGL. The openGL locked up(which I expected). The D3D said 'cannon start the selected rendered'. I tried both 800x600 and 640x480(which locked up again...). It just ain't happenin' on these systems. I could probably run it fine at home, though(K6-3/400). But, I don't know how(if) it would handle a full field... :( Eldred -- Tiger Stadium R.I.P. 1912-1999 Homepage - http://www.umich.edu/~epickett GPL hcp. +45.45 Never argue with an idiot. DirectX 7a is also required to run this demo. You should also have the latest drivers for your sound and video cards installed. The recommended machine for the demo is a Pentium III 500 MHz or higher with 128 MB of RAM and a 32 MB Direct3D compatible video card." I'm using a PII 400, 128 MB, SB Live, V3 2000 1.07 driver, DX8...it rocks on my system. The cockpit view gets a little bogged down with the mirror on, 25-35 fps. Using the bumper cam, it sails along at 45-50 fps. -- don New GPL Programs for the Converted Tracks: http://www.ianparker.co.uk/gpl/bapom/

It says 64 MB ram in the readme. <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:9068a6$gu1$[email hidden]... > I dont know , I havent seen the requirements anywhere. I hope that > is not it as I would like to race Dover. But, that would probably > explain it. > Thanks > > Mark
Looking around the various posts I see that alot of people have 64 mb RAM and it apparently works fine for them. Hmmmmmm. What the hell is up with my Dover? Oh well. Maybe I will try a re-install.
