AMD Athlon compatability questions

Greetings, I'm thinking about purchasing a new Processor. I'm looking at an Athlon 900 Thunderbird on an Abit KT7-RAID motherboard. I'm looking at an ATI All-in-Wonder Radeon 32MEG Video Card and a Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live Platinum 5.1 sound card. Has anyone had any problems in NASCAR3, GP Legends or other racing sims with any of these components? How does the Alll-In-Wonder card compare to others? Thanks in advance, Jeff
I have a 1GHz TBird on a KT7-RAID (make sure you buy two identical hard drives to take advantage of the RAID controller), SB-Live Value, and a 64Mb GeForce2 GTS. Runs GPL brilliantly (1600X1200 at 36fps), GP3 is also great at 1280X1024 with few slowdowns (due entirely to ancient code, of course). The motherboard is getting rave reviews all around, and I'd certainly recommend it highly. Rick "Jeffrey F. I've had too many problems with Maxtor drives in the past, but YMMV, of course. As far as video cards are concerned, I can't speak to FSAA on the 3dfx cards vs. the GeForce 2 GTS. I also do computer animation on this machine (my wife would never have let me spend $3k on a new system just for racing ) ), and there's no comparing OpenGL drivers from ATi/3dfx/etc. with the outstanding drivers and performance from Nvidia. It's a good tradeoff. Rick

Some have had luck, but many, myself included, had a compatibility issue between the Maxtor and the KT7. You can do a Deja search (+Maxtor +Abit +KT7) for more info. As someone else suggested, the Voodoo 5 5500 is a far superior card due to it's ability to give you full-screen anti-aliasing (FSAA). Once you've seen your favorite racing sims in FSAA, you can never go back.
