Has anyone else posted about the shadows that cloak the gauges in near darkness for half the lap? When you turn the other half of the circut, the cockpit and gauges are bathed in sunlight... -- dave henrie Free the ICR2 source code!

hi, I also noticed that ! nice touch ! Is there any exterior camera during race ? i would like use it for some physics test.... It's a shame that there is no raceway in the demo like Sears or Watkin :o( and last, what is the shortcut key for replay as F2 in GPL ? IMHO N4 is awesome ! Dave Henrie wrote:

Sure... just use PageUp/PageDown to toggle between views. > It's a shame that there is no raceway in the demo like Sears or Watkin :o( > > and last, what is the shortcut key for replay as F2 in GPL ? ESC - and then choose Replay from the menu... Oh.. heck... while I'm at it.. I might aswell list all the keys: 1 thru 0 : Autochat keys... messages can be edited in the options or player-menus. Must be followed by "enter" to send the messages. F1 to F10: "Black-boxes." (use space and arrowkeys to adjust the settings..) Tips: When you race - Hit F2 and then the spacebar to see the disance to other cars. T : Chat F: Framerate-counter O: Toggle trackside-objects detail level. M: Toggle mirror detail level L: Show latency/quality Crtl+C: Connection quality "lat-o-meter" :-) Shift+R: reset car (back to pits) Shift+T: *read* and reset tacho tell-tail. S: Show speed and gear-indicator Pause: Guess :-) Printscreen: Take screenshot V: View next car (Shift+V: view previous car) Thats about it I guess... unless I've missed something... (apart from replay controls that is!) Ed_

It is more subtle than in the N4 demo, but the NH cockpit gets brighter and darker as you drive around the oval as well. ~daxe

Given the season and time of day that most Nascar races are run (the sun is high), I wouldn't think there should be much of a shadow effect on the dash. Watching the ground shadow in a non-cockpit view, it seems that N4 agrees with this for one view, but not the other. -- Slot Tweaks & Reviews www.slottweak.com "daxe" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > On Fri, 01 Dec 2000 08:04:20 GMT, "Dave Henrie" <[email hidden]> > wrote: > > > Has anyone else posted about the shadows that cloak the gauges in near > >darkness for half the lap? It would be nice if you could actually read the gauges. The shadows are a nice touch but too exagerated. The gauges go from being very difficult to read - to impossible to read. Bring back something closer to the N3 cockpit, get rid of that stupid steering wheel and shifter, add a subtle shadowing effect and you have a winner. jt "GTX_SlotCar" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:75VV5.4632$[email hidden]... > Given the season and time of day that most Nascar races are run (the sunis > high), I wouldn't think there should be much of a shadow effect on thedash.

Maybe call it someting like "readme.txt" and put it in the ../[Game Root] directory. Even if they did I suppose most people wouldn't read it. Regards, Anthony Bulloch

While we're discussing keyboard inputs: Would it be possible to have two functions <next black box> and <previous black box> that go through the F1-F10 displays? What you need Ronny is Game Commander. You can progam any number of black box functions that respond to your own voice. http://www.gamecommander.com/ dave henrie

readme-files are for wuzzes! So are user manuals for home electronic equipment. :) -- Olav K. Malmin remove .spam when replying

It looks kinda funny though. It makes it look like someone took a hacksaw and cut off the steering shaft at the wheel. I doubt if I would notice the shifter out of my peripheral vision everytime I changed gears. With it on the screen the way it is I find it distracting. Besides, with my RS shifter, I don't need a second one, same reason I wanted the wheel off my screen. I've looked inside Winston Cup cars before and they look like you would never notice your shifter while looking straight out the windshield. -- Robert Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
