You guys weren't KIDDING about the 'stagger' effect! Whoa - this thing's gonna
be TOUGH to drive in traffic... :(
The sound reminds me of the stock cars in Andretti Racing. The smoke effects
are cool, but I just got them by slamming on the brakes on the backstrech. I
watched the replay for it.
For the people with slower systems, here's a comparison: I have a K6/3-400,
96MB ram, V3 video, SBlive. Running at 800x600x16, and keeping the default
graphics settings, I got 37-54 fps with nothing else on the screen. When I
added the F1 window, fps dropped to 30-43. Adding the mirror dropped me to
24-32, and using the high res mirror dropped me to 22-30. It still SEEMED
playable, but then again I was the only one on the track. Those frame rates
can only DROP when you add the AI, or online racers...
Yep, I'm gonna have to upgrade... :(

Or at least I couldn't think of a better excuse when I snagged a
Geforce 2 Ultra card today to replace my 'aging' Geforce 256 card.

still run a thriller v2 with 4mb for gpl and have a v2. just for the
giggles tried to use the rendition... will not run at all,,,, the same with
heat.

It's the 4megs. Both the NH and N4 demos run on my 8meg Thriller.

Hey I have the Diamond V220 Rendition card, and I got Heat to run miserably
well but N4 is hopeless - think I might go get something with more than 4
megs today :-)
