Anyone here try Norton virtual drive to run sims? I just got a copy with a new motherboard, and it looks interesting. Documentation says it will eliminate need to have CDR in the drive, as it apparently puts the entire disk on the hard-drive (yeah, looks like a HD hog). Would this eliminate the need to have the CD in to play certain games? Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

Most games these days get a nocd crack put out for them so I see no real need for that program myself. But, I guess some may find it useful.

I use Norton Virtual Drive with Viper Racing, Roque Squadron Elite Missions and Starcraft. It IS a HD hog but if you have sufficient disk space (i use a 10GB hard disk only for my games) then it is a good choice. the only trouble are some glitches but very, very little. Does not affect the gameplay. Try it first with games that need the CD on the drive but doesn't take all the 650mb, in my case i tried first with Roque Squadron, then the other two. FYI, You can run Viper racing without the CD by doing a full install and using the -nocanary switch. No special software necessary. JediBoricua wrote:
