> I'm not an expert but I read what they write :-). It actually
depends on your style and the particular LWFF wheel and LWFF drivers
you've got. Like setting up a car, it's got a fairly strong personal
component.
A good starting point is 100% overall and spring, 25% damper
in the LWFF properties. In GPL, 300 overall, 20 damping, and .02
latency. Adjust the overall till you have the force you like,
remembering it may be esier to feel subtle effects with less force and
also that less is more in the GPL settings. See if you like less or
more damping. Finally, tweak the latency.
While I wouldn't consider myself an expert (at least not with regard to FF),
here's what I've settled on after more than a year of using the LWFF with
GPL :
LWFF control panel:
Overall: 80%
Spring: 100%
Damper:30%
Centering spring: disabled.
Core.ini:
[ Joy ]
allow_force_feedback = 1
force_feedback_damping = 8.000000
force_feedback_latency = 0.005000
max_steering_torque = 350.000000
Cheers,
Jan.

Anyway, I've got the FF working but I was wondering if any of the experts
here can recommend the best settings to use in core.ini for my wheel.
Thank you for any advice you can give.

LWFF control panel:
Overall: 100%
Spring: 100%
Damper:100%
Centering spring: disabled.
Core.ini:
[ Joy ]
force_feedback_damping = 150.000000 ; force feedback damping
coefficient
force_feedback_latency = 0.015000 ; force feedback latency
(secs)
max_steering_torque = 150.000000 ; steering torque in N*in
giving max device force

Thanks for the suggestions - I'll do a bit of experimenting and see what
feels best.
