HiGuys....
In one word 'Excellent' I wholeheartedly agree with someone's post about it
being on a par with 'GPL'....
Does anyone know of any fansites or if there are being skins, sounds or new
models being made (in Europe they also run a few other makes of truck in
Truck Racing not onle Merc's..)
Anyway Excellent game.
Cheers

Glad you like it.
Just for the record and quite off-topic
The other brands involved in truck racing (MAN and Caterpillar) are not in
the game because they didn't WANT to be in the game at the start, the
project started in 98, Mercedes asked the other if they wanted to be part of
it but they refused, so Mercedes went alone, of course NOW there are quite a
few truck games in the "works" with eveybody, but as far as I could see it's
mostly arcade and NOT sim at all.

That's a contradiction James. They both use the same game engine, and N4
has even more enhancements in the physics compared to GPL. You may not like
the feeling of the car, but that's how it is in reality.

Agreed. It's the whole truck thing that I couldn't get into.

I agree, but maybe just not quite on par with GPL. But certainly not far
behind. Very sophisticated physics model, certainly ahead of SCGT and many
others. Maybe on par with N4. GPL is superb because you can see and feel
the physics model on a very 'reactive' race car.
N4 and MBTR have sophisticated models, but in cars and trucks that a
veeeeery heavy, so 'feeling' just how good they are is difficult, and
therefore comparing is hard. But I still think GPL has the most
sophisticated model, followed by N4 and MBTR equally.
Then maybe SCGT (with the Advanced Options Editor on Pure Sim). There are a
number of other sims out there that would fight for 3rd spot, but can't
remember all of them now. ;)

I definitely agree with you on that. The trucks certainly take some driving
and in their own way are as difficult and challenging to drive as GPL. I've
just this moment completed two races and with the AI at 70% I've finished
8th and 6th at Zolder. This is one challenging sim. At the moment I can't
even begin to think how I'm going to get close to the AI at 100% but that
most certainly is the sign of a sim that will last.
This sim also has stunning graphics, even on my Voodoo3 2000 at 800x600.
The representation of Donington is easily the nest I have seen in any sim
and exactly how I remember the circuit having watched a touring car race
there.
Cheers
Phil

I'm up to 88% settings for the AI by now. I doubt I'll ever be able to race
at 100%, considering the racing skills that's about it (I'm 95% as good as
the real divers hehe).

Interesting comment, considering I learned Donington from it's modeling in
other sims (TOCA, SBK, etc..) and the one modeled in MBTR is very different.
But if you say so, it's even another good point for the company. BUY IT
EVERYBODY! ;-)
