Your hard disc has run out of space - clean up the temp directory!

???
When this message appears in GPL, the main reason is that some setting
changed and made the sim incompatible. It won't load the game engine, and
displays such error. Whatever change the person made before this message
started to appear should be changed back to it's original position.

I believe that the message "Could not load the track" is a catch-all that
GPL returns whenever it fails to load the track.
Certainly it could be caused by something being wrong with the track
directory, but it can also happen if the hard disc has run out of space (for
some reason GPL needs to allocate some disc space during the track loading
process), and given that the message only started appearing unexpectedly,
that seems a good avenue to check out.
I only say this because *exactly* the same thing happened to me, and the
solution was to empty the temp directory.
I could be wrong in this case, but it's certainly worth a shout!
