I've wanted to start a racing LAN event for the last two+ years. But
every time I make the desission to get things on their way, I stop. I
figure the only way I can eventually race on a LAN would be if I had MAJOR
help in starting one up.
There is a FPS LAN club in Corning, NY (http://www.rrgc.org/). I've
posted a question on their web page forums about Autoracing. The responce I
got was trhat motorcycle madness(?) is the only non-fps games they've
played. So, That's pretty much out of the question. They did mention that
If I had convinced some Auto Racing sim players/drivers to attend one of
their events that we would be most welcome! If this sounds like a good
idea, email me (and them). Maybe if enough of us do one of their events we
might be able to start our own thing at our own place and ect..
If the above doesn't sound like a good idea but a Racing LAN event does
and you think you can help out in getting things started, then email me and
between all of us maybe we can do something.

We need one in the Detroit area. After all, it's the automotive capital of the
US...<g>

Mike,
How about a LAN World Championship in Las Vegas?!?!?!? We get all the
world's hot shoes in one place at one time (in an atmosphere positively
conducive to conventions) and let them have at it in a ladder competition,
with the top 20 drivers competing in the original 11-race championship (6
votes for 1st, etc.). We get the original sponsors (Goodyear, etc.) to kick
in the prizes, and we get the gaming box mfrs. (Alienware, etc.) to provide
the LAN. Sign me up!

Yes, I remember that group. It sounds like a place to be/attend.
Unfortunatly they travel all over the place. The next event is scheduelled
for Atlanta, A bit too far to go just for a LAN race (2000 miles(?)) I was
thinking someplace a little closer to home, maybe within a 3 or 4 hour
drive.
Thanks for reminding me of them. I'll have to watch for the next time
they are out this way.

Binghampton area would probably draw from Penn, NY, NJ area.

20 hours just for a LAN event? Damn, get a life. ;-)
I see that Mike Grandy would attend a NY LAN event. I'll be emailing
him Sunday afternoon to see if he'll help get things started.
