F1CE2000 - how to get the stop the cars from losing detail?

The cars look absolutely awesome in F1CE2000 from close up, though, as soon as the car is a little bit futher away, it switches to a lower polygon level that looks pretty average. It's really obvious when you lose the nice round wheels with deep dishes :-( Also, the car loses a lot of nice detail (smaller polygons count I guess). I don't really like this - I would like to keep the wonderful close up detail' a bit longer (if not indefinitely) - is there a way to set something somewhere that will tell the game to keep on drawing the 'full detail' car while it if further away? Ideally I'd like to be able to set this value so that when the car is really far, it would go into the low-res model but for anything that "I" consider close up, keep the high-res model. Is there a way to do this? ps. Just a small sidenote, I just noticed that the brakes on my car start glowing after some heavy breaking :-) Nice touch :-) ... very easy to notice at Melbourne track (which is the closest thing to the real thing I have seen in any game - it looks and feels like the real thing ... I drive on it often as I like in Melbourne :-) Then Monaco is disappointing, GP3 does a much better job here and even GPL (if u forgive the track having a bit different layout). I was in Monaco for about a month about a year or two ago and GPL/GP3 capture the town/track perfectly ... can't say the same about F1CE2000 though. -- Regards, David Mocnay
There is a fix for the detail pop-up on the cars at the Blackhole Motorsports site, David -- http://www.bhmotorsports.com/. Check under the F1 2000 section, or their new F1CS2K section. -- JB In article <eUmY5.155569$[email hidden]>, "David Mocnay" <[email hidden]> wrote: > The cars look absolutely awesome in F1CE2000 from close up, though,as soon > as the car is a little bit futher away, it switches to a lowerpolygon level > that looks pretty average.
