Folks, I need to upgrade the video card on my daughter's P.C. (PIII 550E) to use it for lan GPL sessions etc. At the moment in Oz V3 3000 and GeForce Mx cards are about the same price. What do you guys consider the wisest choice for an upgrade (from TNT1)?. I'm using a V3 on my PIII 900 and it is great for GPL and was going to buy another one for the other P.C. but can't help wondering if an MX is a better way to go. Don't want to start a NVidia vs 3DFX war, just some input from someone using an MX. TIA Phillip...
i'm very happy with my GeForce2 MX in GPL, N3, N4 demo, Nascar Heat, High Heat Baseball 2001, NHL 2001, and Unreal Tournament. if you're just playing GPL, the Voodoo may be better, but if you think you might play anything else (ie, N4) i'd go with the GeForce. just MHO.. mark "Phillip Archer" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:911m6e$6gu$[email hidden]... > Folks, > I need to upgrade the video card on my daughter's P.C. The MX would be better without a doubt for any future gaming on that pc, and with the d3d patch GPL looks very good. -- Don Burnette Dburn in N3 and Legends ICQ# 74084566 "Phillip Archer" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:911m6e$6gu$[email hidden]... > Folks, > I need to upgrade the video card on my daughter's P.C. I've had them both and the Geforce II MX is better for all the games. My framerates improved in GPL, Nascar3, etc. I would go with the MX by Hercules.
