Which BIOS settings did you alter? I had a problem that sounds like yours. Changing "AGP Aperture" in the bios from default 64mb to 256mb made a big difference for me. Pretty annoying really - owned the card for 3 months before I found out and was able to use its full potential. Tony

Dammit, bought a Creative Labs 3d Blaster Geforce 2 MX to replace my trusty V3 2000. Worked okay at first but am now getting total flashing and graphics distortion upon entry to GPL & N4 demo. The latter works fine in OpenGL BTW and suprisingly, NHeat works fine in D3d too. I have tried reinstalling both Creative and Nvidia drivers with no success as well as altering BIOs settings as recommended Help please !
need to turn v-sync off. most drivers have a place where you can do this. -- http://home.triad.rr.com/snake88/ "Ian Greenwood" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > Dammit, > > bought a Creative Labs 3d Blaster Geforce 2 MX to replace my trusty V3 > 2000. Sounds like Vsynch may be turned on in d3d. Go into your MX's advanced properties, and make sure vsynch is set to "always off". If your using Creative's drivers, go grab the detonator 3 drivers from Nvidia's website, I believe their the 6.31 drivers which are the latest release. -- Don Burnette Dburn in N3 and Legends ICQ# 74084566 "Ian Greenwood" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > Dammit, > > bought a Creative Labs 3d Blaster Geforce 2 MX to replace my trusty V3 > 2000. Hey guys I have tried all of the possibilities you mentioned with no luck - I am focussing now on the fact that the card shares an IRQ with 'IRQ Holder for PCI steering' so this could be causing a conflict though Win98 is not reporting problems. Alternatively I will reinstall DX8 - any more ideas ? Cheers Ian
the IRQ holder is normal and shouldnt be the problem. I also had the problems and solved it by installing the correct drivers for my monitor. The V-sync option is also good, however the main problem related to refresh rates of the monitor. hope this helps Shane Ian Greenwood <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

Some times when im frustrated: I remove the card in system prop. Shutdown. Remove card. Reboot. Shutdown. Install card into different pci slot. Reboot install latest drivers. So that is fine. Where is the same option in the Detonator 3 drivers - I think I have the right one - the file is W9x-631 Cheers Ian

That's an easy one ;) From your desktop right click to bring up the display menu then (either tab (T) or Button (B)) Properties Settings (T) Advanced (B) GeForceMX2 (T) Additional Properties (B) Direct3D Settings (T) More Direct3D (B) Vertical Sync drop down box. Couldn't be easier if you ask me ......... Regards, Anthony Bulloch
