CMR2 Problem

Dear All, Am running a PIII 450, Voodoo3 (1.07 drivers), Dx8. Whenever I start a race (arcade Italy and Sweden tried only) the game gets to the first corner and locks up (picture frozen, sound stuttering). Can't seem to get around it. Any ideas? I also use a LWFF f/feedback wheel. Cheers Jon

It's your Voodoo 3 drivers - you need to go back to either the 1.05.02 betas or 1.05.00 if you prefer non-beta sa w

Use older drivers, v1.05.00 or v1.05.02 beta... t. M

What? Is this true? Just got the game today (haven't installed it yet). I'm running v1.07.00 and DX8. I definately don't want to go thru uninstalling DX8 and downgrading the drivers? AFAIK the earlier drivers have serious performance issues with DX8 .. Any idea about a fix ... ? Hena

You don't have to uninstall DX8. Just install older V3 drivers. I have V3 divers v1.05.00 and DX8 and everything works just fine. At the moment there is no other solution available to the problem with V3 and Colin. You can always wait new patch (not that CMR2Patch105) from Codemasters or newer drivers from 3DFX and hope that they will fix the problem or do just the above and go racing :) t. M

In fact, the 1.05 drivers and directx8 are not OK.
