How do I host N4 through a router?

N4 sees the ip address on my NIC which is not my real internet ip address. Is there a way I can hack in my real ip address in core.ini to make this work? Unfortunately ip assignment is dynamic so I'll have to make the change everytime I log in - if it's even possible... David Cook
my dynamic route from your routing device ur n4 server as sspecified in the readme -- Sincerely, Mark F. Nascar4 shows the IP addresses of any TCP/IP devices in the machine, so since you're behind a router the NIC in your machine has a non-routable IP (this is perfectly fine and exactly what you should be seeing in the game). If you want to host a game from behind the router you would need to enter the router's config and forward UDP ports 32766-32808 to the internal IP of the server, and then give out the IP of the router to anyone who wanted to join your server. -- Eric "David L. Thanks that worked! I didn't even have to give out my ip address. There's an option in the configuration program for my router to map external ip's to the internal. That combined with the UDP port settings did the trick! --David "Eric Busch" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:919i63$bag$[email hidden]... > Nascar4 shows the IP addresses of any TCP/IP devices in the machine, so > since you're behind a router the NIC in your machine has a non-routable IP > (this is perfectly fine and exactly what you should be seeing in thegame). > If you want to host a game from behind the router you would need to enter > the router's config and forward UDP ports 32766-32808 to the internal IPof
