I just ran several light fuel load laps with soft tires at Monza. By the 5th lap my rears were already losing grip big time. I checked the quick race settings and the fuel and tire wear was set at 1x. This is after adjusting the tire stiffness from .40 to .60 and lowering the flywheel to .095. Plus using, I think it was David M's suggestions for the other tweek(inertia?). Not as extreme as Gregor's mods but about half what the stock settings were. Since this was also my first trip out with softs and light fuel, I don't have a comparison before the change. But the tires sure went away fast. -- dave henrie Free the ICR2 source code!

That's interesting. I do remember the tweak for the tire stiffness actually decreased tire wear somewhat. What the inertia setting does is most likely dependent on the driving style and setup, though; in itself, not much should change with that setting. -Gregor
I was 'shredding' the tyres within 5 laps before any tweeks so I don't thinkthat this is a side-effect - it's just how long soft tyres last when driven agressively. Sounds about right from what you see in F1. Regards, David Mocnay Dave Henrie wrote in message ... > I just ran several light fuel load laps with soft tires at Monza. Ok then, next question. How much fuel does the field carry in a quick race? Are they on full tanks? I can race in the pack if I choose a full tankload, but If I go light, then I blast away..(at reduced competitive levels that is...) dave henrie "David Mocnay" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:mGyZ5.104$%[email hidden]...
