It's a good card for video capture on the cheap but not much use for 3D. you need a Voodoo2 or higher , to be honest a v3 2000 will be as cheap as a v2 so I'd try for one of those if you can. You can't really run GPL at all with less than v2. Hi wouldn't the ATI all in wonder pro be O.K. in gpl with the d3d patch. I know its not the first choice for gamers but it didn't do too bad in a test against v3 and others of the age. My friend runs one albeit on a 700 athlon and it seems quite acceptable Cheers Martin. You can use the All-In-Wonder Pro alongside a 3D-only Voodoo card. We had a Voodoo2 running with our All-In-Wonder Pro on our secondary machine, and it worked just fine. I'm not sure if you can get 3D-only Voodoo3s or not, however... DennyK Martin Chapman wrote:

I've had an ATI All-in-Wonder Pro (8 megs) for a number of years now. It's great for watching TV up in the corner of the screen while surfing the Net, but I wouldn't recommend it for 3D Gaming. I never really tried GPL on it. I use 2 Voodoo2's for that. In fact, the reason that I've never dumped the V2's is that I really like the AIW Pro for non-gaming applications. Hooking the V2's to it gives me the best of both worlds. However, I did run GP3 on AIW Pro at first (before I could get it working with the Voodoo2's), and it ran. Frame rate for hotlapping was OK, but this is on Celeron 566@850, not a 200Mhz K6. Can't recall whether I ran a race with full field or not. I don't think I bothered, since I didn't expect it to run too well. Bottom line is No, I don't think that you'll be satisfied with the AIW Pro's 3D performance for the racing titles you mention, at least not on you present system. Adding a V2 (or 2) will help, but I think the main bottleneck is your CPU. Richard S Beckett wrote:

Never been able to get a computer with an ATI adapter in it to work with D3D in GPL, ever. SLG "Richard S Beckett" <[email hidden]> wrote:

what about the All-In-Wonder Radeon Card, that'll be good for 3D games as well. <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...
