I'm in the market for a FF wheel and seems the Actlabs Force RS is the one to get. Any opinions or comments?
I've been using one for several weeks with GPL and just love it to death. Truly an awesome wheel. I'm getting the shifter for Christmas and have the 5 speed plate on the way. There should be a high end pedal set with clutch available for the truly hardcore in the first quarter of 2001. -- Chris "Ambulater" Lee "Don't Bother Running.........You'll Just Die Tired." How? I've got a set, and unless they're planning some really hokey add- on, there's no mounting point, or room for the new pedal mechanism. I got the impression that they were builing a new and improved set of pedals. Hope so - then I can get rid of my combined TM- NascarPro/ActLabs setup :). Kendt Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/
They would have you replace the current pedals with the new pedals that plug into your pedals port, then it will also have a clutch that has a cable that prolly rides along like the USB/Serial Cable that plugs into the shifter module. So it will prolly be a two headed cable with one end going to where your pedals plug in now and another end that plugs into the shifter, with the accel, brak, and clutch all on one platform. I AM GUESSING AT THIS! (Raymond if I am right send me another T-shirt, just kidding!) SLG [email hidden] wrote:

Sorry Tim, you're misinformed. This is from Brandon at ACT-LABS as posted on their message boards: "The product is a completely new pedal system with clutch (ie. Gas + Brake + Clutch) sold as a stand-alone item. Not a clutch pedal that somehow attaches to our current pedals. New base, new pedal mechanism, etc. Brandon Crick ACT LABS" -- Chris "Ambulater" Lee "Don't Bother Running.........You'll Just Die Tired." Wasn't it previously said that it was going to be an add-on? anyway, that's very good but I guess expensive news... I saw the first official posting made by ACT-LABS and it always seemed to clear to me that they would produce a stand alone pedal set for the hardcore crowd looking to have the ultimate pedals. Some speculated early, and incorrectly, that some type of a clutch add-on for the existing pedals would be produced, but as far as I can tell this was pure speculation or misunderstanding and unrelated to anything ACT-LABS actually said. I'm excited about it and will definitely shell out the money to have some added breaking control in GPI turns. -- Chris "Ambulater" Lee "Don't Bother Running.........You'll Just Die Tired." Any idea on how the pedals are going to function? I mean are they still going to be the basic deisgn of the current pedals where you push down or are they going for something better this time? Love the Force RS. Love the shifter. Using MS pedals. :-) Steve-S On Fri, 15 Dec 2000 21:48:34 -0600, "Ambulater" <[email hidden]> wrote: >I've been using one for several weeks with GPL and just love it to death. >Truly an awesome wheel.
