Hi all, all the physics discussions about F1 CS 2000 made me go and try to update the vehicles in Sports Car GT as well. I updated the tire stiffness of all original vehicles of SCGT, and reduced the steering ratio, which makes the cars much more precise. You can get the file at http://www.camtp.uni-mb.si/camtp/veble/sims/vehicle.zip It's a small zip file with the original and new vehicle.mas files (vehicle.mas and vehicle_old.mas) Any feedback is appreciated! Beware though, the cars will feel much different. Let's just say I just love playing SCGT now! -Gregor
Awesome.. can u do files for all the cars that exist? :) So I can change my downloaded cars, how much did u change the settings by? And was it just tyre stiffness and steering ratio? Thanks, great work! Luke -=87=- Gregor Veble <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:91fsv9$mi0$[email hidden]...

Thanks for the feedback! I don't have any other cars, but I believe that you get them in the form of simple .veh files that can be altered with WordPad. The tire stiffness was put to 70 lateral and 80 longitudinal coefficient for the fronts and 80 lateral and 90 longitudinal to the rears. The steering ratio was put from .650 to .2. That's all that's changed. I've tested it with many courses (not all), and it gave sufficient steering demand in all corners. -Gregor Luke Phillips wrote in message <3a3ca3bb$0$19429$[email hidden]>...

Dude! You fixed this game for me! I never played it because I couldn't get the force-feedback to do anything useful. With your settings I can set both steering sensitivity and speed sensitivity to their minimum values and finally feel the force-feedback while still being able to steer the car! Great stuff, thanks! Not quite an easy game, though, I thought compared to GPL anything else was peanuts :^) best wishes, Milan "Gregor Veble" <[email hidden]> schreef in bericht news:91fsv9$mi0$[email hidden]...

Hi , i'm a bit confused as there is no tire stiffness value in any of the .veh files of the cars in my patch folder, just the lateral and Longtitudinal coefficiency values. But i always tought thses dealt with grip not stiffness. Sudesh "Milan Poll" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:91jfj0$des$[email hidden]... > Dude! You fixed this game for me! Never mind i think it uses the values from the default .vhs for this, this would mean i don't have to change all the values in about 400 .veh files....pfew.. Me too :). But some careful experimenting proved otherwise, and these are the settings that need to be altered. -Gregor
But this in some cases quadruples these values! I'm wondering because in F12K there is a value for tire stiffness....... Then i WILL have to change all 400 files....ouch! Sudesh "sudesh" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

In both sims I've found the sweet spot to be between 60-80 for these values. I made the values in SCGT just a bit higher to see what the sim engine is capable of. I'm not sure if they are spot on, but they do give a very precise feel that the original cars lack, and one must be very careful on bumps and crests when accelerating now. -Gregor
Now Gregor let's find tire stiffness value in GPL.exe (probably hard coded) and reduce it to half of present value... What do you think? Darko P.S. That'll be a day! Gregor Veble <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...
