The mods apply to the non-FF wheel, but may prove useful.

I rewired my LWFF after reading Steve's article, it only took about 30
minutes and works like a dream!

I believe you can simply leave yer Logi steering wheel plugged into the USB
port and plug the CH pedals into the game port, without having to do any
rewiring. I think it matters which you get Windows to recognize first (the
gameport, I think), but even if you have to experiment, this sounds like a
much easier solution. You might check Alison Hine's site; I think that's
what she does with her Logi WMFF. (I went the expensive route: paid TSW to
hook up their pedals to a Logi wheel--works great, tho!)

You CAN just plug the pedals into the gameport, but many games will not be
able to see both controllers. But if your only interest is GPL, that's the
easiest route. I suppose N4 will work set up this way also, and WSC is said
to. But I can't say about other games. Anyone?

ive heard of using different methods to firm up the brake pedal, what works
for you or are you going au natural?
thanks

plugged into CH pedals. The wheel takes controller ID#1 and the
joystick/throttle/pedals take ID#2. You are correct in that most older
games will only see ID#1. As far as I know there is no way to combine ID's
as each ID can only have a maximum of 4 analog axis, and you can't combine
controllers that plug into different ports. I don't know if you can
combine, say, 2 seperate USB devices that only have 2 axis each into 1 ID -
I doubt it. Another thing - Windows ME doesn't have a driver that supports
just rudder pedals on a single ID, but you can get one from here:
www.stickworks.com
GPL, Nascar 4 and Porsche Unleased see multiple ID's.
I can't get Revolt, CMR1 and 2 demos, RallyMasters demo or F1C2000 demo to
see multiple ID's.
Hope this helps,
-Travis

I've hot glued a wedge shaped block of wood to the rear of the brake pedal
and then placed a small coil spring between the wedge and the pedal base to
increase resistance. I found the springs at a local hardware store, they are
only about a buck and a half a piece.

For a somewhat less elegant solution than Don's, you could use my fix; a
blue Penn racquetball (the pro model, of course) and a half-mile of duct
tape. All race cars should have duct tape...
Cheers,

CH pedals, although extremely robust, are not "car-like:" you have to
use your left foot for the brake and your right for the throttle.
This is OK if you're a Toronto police officer, and if you want your
frigging brake lights on all the time (venting...) but may not have
the same degree of realism that you want.
It's very tough to use the right foot for both pedals. But then
again, maybe you're Mika Haakinen, and a two footed driver!
