Hi, Just saw this game at the Toy's R Us. Never see it before. I look at the box and the game seem cool. Has it is a licensed product of IRL it come with the Indy track. You can even race soome kind of sprint cars on dirt tracks. It was 30$ Can (about 20$ US). Has anyone ply this game? Any comment would be appreciated. Thanks
Wow -- I can't believe there are still copies of this in existence! If you're a diehard IRL fan, it's kind of neat -- the AI is really poor, but the driving model really isn't all that bad for hot-lapping and such. I like to play around with it prior to actual IRL races to get a "feel" for the tracks. Kind of out-of-date now, given that Las Vegas, Disney, and Louden are off the schedule, and there are no add-on tracks to be found. Probably the only place you'll find ANY information at all (along with a MANDATORY steering ratio patch) is The IRL Insider sim site: http://irlinsider.adnetweb.com/sims/ If it's only $20 and you're an IRL fan, it might be worth it, but if you're just interested in the sprint car aspect, I have to say that it's not even in the same league as Wizard Work's "Dirt Track Racing Sprint Cars" title. The Indy car portion does have a bit of merit, though, but don't expect greatness -- remember, this came out the same time as CART Precision Racing, and they were both two of the first games to REQUIRE a 3D card, so neither game was very well-received. Hope this helps a bit! -- John Bodin Publisher, The IRL Insider Magazine http://irlinsider.adnetweb.com/ In article <[email hidden]>, [email hidden] (Richard marchand) wrote:

You might want to check around a bit more... As considering this title is at least 3 years old you should be able to find it for less than that (assuming you can still find it ANYWHERE at this point) As John said, it was one of the first racing games to REQUIRE a 3D graphics card, and the AI was very unpredictable and erratic. However it has a good rendition of Indy, IRP, Winchester and a few others (Eldora and THAT if i'm not mistaken) and as John said Ratbags DTR Sprint Cars is WAY better, but it's winged sprinters on dirt rather than non-wing (traditional) sprint, midget and dirt-champ cars on pavement! If your a IRNLS / IRL fan it's the only game available for the PC, however a VERY similar game came out earlier this year for I believe the Nintendo 64, or if not that, then some other console system. I can't believe they're charging that much for it... It was an interesting 'diversion'. The MAIN problem is the handling. As soo as you turn the wheel to turn, the car wants to skid into the wall. It's *very* touchy. I think John Bodin had a patch to make it almost driveable. It's been so long since I played it that I can't remember all the good/bad things about it. But, I'd say that price was TOO high... Eldred -- Tiger Stadium R.I.P. 1912-1999 Homepage - http://www.umich.edu/~epickett GPL F1 hcp. +39.11/F3 hcp. +373.73 Never argue with an idiot. Hmmm... between the quality of the game (or lack thereof ;-) ) and the age of it, that price seems pretty steep to me. Your call... -- Chuck Kandler Linux, because life's too short for a buggy OS. Registered Linux User #180746 http://counter.li.org

Your call... I bought this when it was NEW for 19.99 and got two copies of the CD in the box, one to send to a friend. It isn't a very good sim, but is worth maybe 5 or 10$ just to poke around. ~daxe

Just buy ICR2 and join a league and have some real fun. :) ----------------------------------------- Dan Belcher Team Racing Unlimited http://simcrash.00game.com
