And people say GPL is hard to drive! Here's a synopsis of me driving F12KCS: 1/2 lap, spin, 1/2 lap, spin, 1/2 lap, spin, brilliant lap, spin, exit. I'm having a devil of a time keeping this beast (reduced inertia values to 1200, 1600, 650) pointed the right way, and I'm no slouch at a -33.5 GPLRank. I fire up GPL after and it seems positively tame by comparison. There's a veeeeerrrrrry fine line of control I think I've found once where you can sort of drift-catch-drift-catch-drift it with the right slow speed damper settings. I think I like it. :-) -Dirt- 2000 White/Red CBR929RR **Jesus saves sinners and redeems them for valuable cash prizes** Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/

If (when) I spin, the car behaves pretty much as I would expect until I get down to near stopping speed where the model seems to drrraaaag out the spin far too long. Seems to me I continue sliding along sideways at less than 30 mph for much longer than would be realistic. This happens even with the reduced inertia values. BTW, I've taken the engine inertia down as far as 0.060 and think that's better than the 0.090 recommended here. Rev characteristics in neutral "sound" closer to what I hear on the starting grid during the TV spots than if it's set at 0.090. The only thing I'm not impressed with at all is the graphics. Even at 1024x768 with all the details on and the text file (don't remember what name) set at 5 I get the impression that I'm in Toonland and that Roger Rabbit is going to pull along side me in that talking taxi at any moment. -Dirt- 2000 White/Red CBR929RR **Jesus saves sinners and redeems them for valuable cash prizes** Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/
You might visit the F1 2000 High Gear forums -- there are some threads there discussing how to develop a standardized set of advanced physics parameters to make the game feel better and perform more realistically. It's a community sort of thing, and the more input we get, the better the end result. Check out the thread here: http://forums.simracingnews.com/ubb/Forum13/HTML/002268.html I think (hope) the goal is to develop a set of parameters that everybody can agree on, and then plug those into an "Advanced Options Editor" sort of program, similar to what's available for SCGT. -- JB F1CS2K Rank 106.384 http://f1cs2krank.dhs.org/ In article <91nms4$nl6$[email hidden]>, Chris Cavin <[email hidden]> wrote:

Oh I don't know about that. It seems to drive enough like F1 2000 that I lowered my time at Indy already :-) -- [email hidden] "Chris Cavin" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:91mkms$v6o$[email hidden]... > And people say GPL is hard to drive!
