Oh my this could be so easy :)
Basically it will be released in 2002 but it will feature the cars from the
season 2000. It will still be based on the decade-and-more-old game engine,
and game reviewers will still give it 98% reviews, even though the major
flaws.

Kinda on the subject, I was browsing through a magazine (SA edition of PC
Format) in the shop the other day and they had a review of GP3 (with total
disregard to the fact that it is still unavailable in the usual PC game
shops here!) where they gave it 94 % (approx). At the bottom of the review
they had a comparison box where it showed they gave a whopping 61% to GPL
when they reviewed it!
Do they know what they are missing?

Here I must disagree. I think that fact the GPL has only 40,000 copys
speaks for itself. For most people, GPL would be a HORRIBLE purchase.

A magazine that targets broad general pc gamers SHOULD give GPL a
low rating. However, if the Magazine was called something like:
Sim Racing Magazine...then you would expect them to cater towards dedicated
sim racers...who, being wise and informed, probably would have
already KNOWN of GPL and so not bothered to purchase the magazine to read
the review...Hence the magazine goes out of business and the editors are
hired by general gaming mags and are forced to critique the umpteenth
version of Mario Karts....ahem I seem to have wandered somewhat off
topic..err...what was the question?

stuff the reviewers get than the quality of the games.
