It's Sierra's fault only. And yeah, I know all the other good old arguments. So start sending those petitions to Mr Ken Williams (or whoever runs Sierra now) instead. -- Olav K. I was under the impression some other company had exclusive rights to the CART brand and were to make arcade games based on it. Aren't they called Midway or something like that? And rather than send petitions to them, I think individual e-mails may make more of an impression as to the size of the demand for such a sim. :-p -- Chuck Kandler Linux, because life's too short for a buggy OS. Registered Linux User #180746 http://counter.li.org

That was actually a good thing to hear, because it troubled me to know that the great creators of the good old Kings Quest series would also be the same guys not letting papy make a proper champcar sim. Remember, someone from papyrus actually made an announcement on this newsgroup in 98 or something that a CART sim will be released in 99... :( -- Olav K. Malmin remove .spam when replying
Maybe Papy should get the out and find a better publisher. They are going stagnate there. But if that all they are good for now is Nascar sims why move I guess. Maybe after Nascar 3 1/2..er 4 they will finally work on something different. "Olav K. Malmin" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

I can't remember that, allthough I came here for the first time in '98, so I may have missed that post. Can you remember who said that so that I can look up the post in dejanews? Andre > >-- >Olav K. Andre, I think I have re-posted that message here several times as late as this year, but here it is:
Quoted text (15 lines)>Subject: Papyrus CART Racing for 99 >Date: 04/25/1998 >Author: Mike Lescault <[email hidden]> > >Papyrus is currently planning on releasing the sequel to CART Racing >sometime in 1999. The as-yet-unnamed product will be based on the >physics system that will debut in Grand Prix Legends. > >As always, I'm more than happy to do my best to confirm or deny any >rumors that arise concerning Papyrus products. (although I obviously can't >always comment on everything) I am just an email away. > >Mike Lescault >Producer >Papyrus/Sierra Sports
And that was it. It is very clear that according to this and the High Gear interview with David Keammer, it's not up to Papy, they probably want to make it as much as we want it. But there are the suits inbetween who has the blame. -- Olav K. Malmin remove .spam when replying
> How needs a petition while you can have WSC next year - write a CART mod > plugin - done. Will the WSC cockpit allow you to adjust fuel settings while racing? Will the WSC graphics allow for oval AND road course wings? Will the WSC sim provide weight jacking and brake preferences in the cockpit? Will WSC have Ovals, Street courses and road courses? Will I grow old waiting for all that to be added into a private patch? Will WSC model the different turbo boost settings? Will WSC know the difference between full course yellows and local yellows? I'm hoping..... dave henrie "sytex" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:91t4qs$ag5$[email hidden]...
