Bought F1 Championship Season 2000 last night. I like it. What's up
with the tracks, though? Hockenheim is like riding on a roller
coaster. And since when are there large undulations in the middle of
L'Eau Rouge? Which, btw, I can take flat out at 190?!?! I haven't
tried all the tracks yet but the minor elevation changes seem to be
poorly done. Every roll or dip in the track has a sharply creased peak
or valley that breaks traction. Monza looks OK but Monaco just looks
plain and bland. The track execution reminds me of Mosport from SCGT,
which I though to be totally inaccurate.
I like the physics. I've got the engine inertia set to 0.060, the tire
stiffness set at 65 and the car inertia set to 1200, 1800, 600. The
car is pleasingly difficult to manage on the edge. I'm going to have
fun tuning it up. I've found the low speed dampers have quite a large
effect on the handling character of the car. Loose, neutral, pushy,
etc.
The graphics are very nice when maxed out. My P-III-600-128-MB /
GeForce2-MX-32-MB won't run well there, though, and I run at 800x600
with all of the 3D options turned off and most everything else turned
up and I get a very acceptable frame rate even if the graphics don't
look as pretty any more.

You think Monza looks ok?????
How about Parabolica?? In the real-non-sim world that curve is one (1) curve
which has a increasing diameter - in F1 2000 AND F1 CS 2000 it is two curves
with a short straight in between - unforgivable in my eyes.
