Other than requiring me to buy a larger computer, and some slightly smarter graphics. Is there much to commend CMR 2, given that I'm still attempting to win an Expert style rally (just one would do!) in CMR 1? Don't really see the point - CMR will undoubtedly run better on my system - so why bother? Have some software houses run out of ideas then? Anyone thought, for example, of a driving sim that allows you to compete in several different championships across an extended period? CMR2, say, could have interleaved the odd Focus test day for "Colin" in a road going car. Steve
IMO Colin2 is not worth upgrading your computer for if you still have unfinished business with Colin1. Personally I like Colin1 better if they had just uprated the graphics and done nothing else it would have been great, unfortunately they didn't :(

Cracked it open yesterday, and it's probably not going to last a week on the drive. <sob> <sniff> /Magnus GPLRank hcp: -34.32

Hmm, ok, let me rescind some of that... I found a "steering damping" setting in the configuration, now it feels a lot more like CMR1. I still think the cars are a bit lighter and jumps a lot less, though. I'm not in despair any longer at least, hehe :-) Some other minor things also: The sound. In CMR1 I seem to recall screaming straight-cut gears, thumping jumps and crashing rolls. Where is that now? I'm going to put it on ice for a while anyway, 'cause of the stuttering. Some tracks stutters so much that I end up in the trees. And I can't really find the magic that kept me spellbound to CMR1, maybe it's the blandness of the stages, or that I'm not as sharp anymore(tooting my own horn here: I thought I was pretty hot stuff in CMR1 16:01 on new zealand, beat that! :), or something else. I just don't know. Btw, I didn't care about the wide stages complaints in CMR1, because they weren't actually THAT wide, and I think that gameplay would have suffered otherwise, but now it's actually kind of ridiculous. The sweden stages are now four lanes wide, I kid you not! They just have got to go on a slim-fast diet until next time. /Magnus GPLRank hcp: -34.32
