Logitech Wheel?

I have a Logitech Wingman FF. The last few days I have noticed that the car (GPL) is not turning as tight. When I go to the calibration screen it seem the calibration as lost some on the steering. I'll re-calibrate and it seems to be fine for a few laps. Then I loose it again. Is the problem the wheel? Are the pots finally going? Is it time to buy a new wheel? Thanks, Chris G.
Could it be that the pot has come lose on its spindle so it is actually moving? I had this problem on an old T2 and just needed to reattach the pot a bit more firmly as you could see it moving to the left and staying there after a left turn. You might want to open up the LWFF and take a look but before you take anything apart I recommend you read the Ball Bearing Kit guide (sorry don't have URL) as they can be a bugger to get back together again. You don't need too much mechanical know-how to take the lid off though. :-) If the thread has gone then you may need to replace it. Someone posted some replacement pot values a while ago. Anyone help with that? Unfortunately, I don't think Logitech will send out replacement pots as Thrustmaster used to, which is a shame as otherwise it's a great wheel. I have had mine for 2 years and never had a problem with it. Darren "Chris G." <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:p0Q06.13050$[email hidden]... > I have a Logitech Wingman FF. >I have a Logitech Wingman FF. The last few days I have noticed that the car >(GPL) is not turning as tight. When I go to the calibration screen it seem I have a completely different problem with mine. After a few laps in a long race my FF seems to lose it's grip on the inside or something. I joined a race at Charlotte to go 50 laps. On lap 22 it seemed like the FF just let go and felt like I was on ice. When I made a pitstop, I had FF again but only for about a half a lap. Then it was gone again. Obviously there is a problem with my wheel going the distance. AND I WAS LEADING THE FREAKIN' RACE!!!! Oh well. Maybe it's time for a TSW. The URL is http://members.nbci.com/_XMCM/jensschu/Logi_manual.htm You should be able to put a dab of hot glue on the pot without disassembling much of the wheel, tho. Just take off the main housing and you'll be able to get at it from the back...

Yeah, I had that on a T2 too... Coming out of the corners at Taladega the car would be fine, then all of a sudden would slip up into the wall. Drove me absolutely nuts until I figured it out. The collar (what a crappy design) that acts as the slip yoke between the wheel shaft and the Pot was WAY too big and was slipping on the Pot. I crimped it down with a pair of pliers and all was well. -Larry "Darren Duncan" <dags@(nospam)ky.xaxon.ne.jp> wrote in message news:920tbh$i5b$[email hidden]... > Could it be that the pot has come lose on its spindle so it is actually > moving? To access the pot you have to take off the plastic cover (6 screws) and then remove the core unit from the base (10 screws). You can pull out the pot by bending aside the plastic-bracket. Make sure you don't turn the wheel shaft too much during the surgery, since the cables could jump off. JensSchumi BTW: More advice you can get in the LWFF-forum, which can be accessed through my webpage On Sat, 23 Dec 2000 09:06:38 -0600, BriGuy <[email hidden]> wrote: >The URL is http://members.nbci.com/_XMCM/jensschu/Logi_manual.htm You >should be able to put a dab of hot glue on the pot without disassembling >much of the wheel, tho. If this is the case you have to disassemble the whole unit on the Logi. Workaround: Before pressing in the pot, apply a drop of hot-glue onto the flat section of the pot-shaft. Work quickly. Here and in the LWFF-forum some guys reported about FF-loss after a certain time, which seems to be heat-related. Try turning off centering spring in the profile. "Dave Casey" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:NaX06.5715$[email hidden]... > >I have a Logitech Wingman FF.
