I was running the 'Ringtrainer program and I've had it set to start me at the beginning of the long straight before the S/F line for months now. I've joined a league recently and we'll be racing the 'Ring soon, so I fired up the Trainer and tried to switch back to the usual starting point, but it won't do it! I've restored my GPL directory from CD in the last couple of months, so I thought, "It must be set to Read Only", so I changed the attributes on the 'Ring Track folder and tried again, no luck. Can anyone tell me what to edit manually in order to put me back in the default starting position for the 'Ring so I can race with others on-line? Thanks, J. P. Hovercraft
No need JP, pit and starting positions are determined at server level, so you'll be entering the track in the usual places. Jan. =--- J. P. Hovercraft wrote...

Hi J. P.! In the Ringtrainer.zip is a file called "track.ini" which Ringtrainer needs for proper function. Ringtrainer won't work with the original track.ini-file that comes with GPL. Copy the enclosed track.ini into the nurburg-folder and fire up Ringtrainer. Once it has started, the original (GPL-) car-position in the pits is automatically set. Quit Ringtrainer, fire up GPL and your car should be dropped in the pitlane as usual ;). HTH! Mail me if you have further problems. Thanks for using Ringtrainer & Best regards Joachim "Crash" Blum
Cool! Thanks, Jan! Then I'll leave it as is (so I don't have to do a full untimed lap in prcatice), and race on. J. P. Hovercraft Jan Verschueren wrote:

I have an odd little 'Ring problem too. I always crash. Pants
Hi Joachim, Thanks! Both for the reply and for the program itself. It's been a great help in bringing my 'Ring time down...from 12:00 to 9:45 so far. A wonderful contribution to the GPL community. J. P. Hovercraft Joachim Blum wrote:
