Is anyone really suprised?
For one, Nascar SimRacing isn't half of what was promised.

I remember back in the day, seeing that big EA striped flashing logo on
my Commodore 64 (and then Amiga 500) as a game loaded up, and getting
all excited because I knew I was in for a good fun inventive game.
These days it is all hate for the Electronic Artists. Hate that is
almost certainly deserved. But I still have a soft spot in my heart for
them.

NSR is an absolute grain of sand in EA's entire empire.
They have sold more copies of a single Sims expansion pack than their entire
simracing catalogue since the last decade I could bet on that.

And the unbelievable success of the NFSU series has sold 100times more
copies than NSR too.

getting a monopoly on the NFL and NFL Players definitely took a huge chunk
out of their profits. I actually found ESPN more fun than Madden, but that's
the way it goes. As we saw with Sony getting exclusive rights to Formula One
racing games didn't mean that there was going to be any good F1 racing sims.
So, seeing that EA took the NFL doesn't mean that those games are going to
be any good. Madden had its day, but now it's just the same ol' rehash with
different players...BORING.

Didnt even try this sim. Was it even remotely close to feeling like one or
did it have that "too arcady" feel?

unlocked. Problem is EA has the key and they likely will never use it.

I can agree with this :)
I actually _want_ to like the EA Nascar Sim now, but it's just not there for
me.
It's better in it's own ways, but the downsides are just too huge.
