Colin Harris 24 Dec 2000 08:23 UTC#213392
STCC2 arrived yesterday and, although I haven't scoured forums, etc, yet, has anyone got the same problems with it that I've seen, and possible solutions? The sound keeps cutting out, the pedals are (as is normal for Digital Illusions stuff) quite unrealistic and unresponsive, and the online collisions are interesting, to say the least. If you get punted from behind, YOU get the black flag! (The pits aren't that easy to find, either, to serve your time!) A game in need of a patch already? I like the layout, the track design and the graphics (which run smooth as silk on my bloated P2 500) but again, it seems like it's not *quite* the finished product. Help if you can, please, and a very merry Christmas to all! Colin
Seems STCC2 is just another one to add to the (imho way too long) list of unfinished sims in the year 2000... I have a lot of engine-sound problems (stuttering). Maybe installing DX8 could be a solution, but i haven't had any need for DX8 so far and i'm not too thrilled about installing it. Patch seems to be released after Christmas, though. Check this guy's site for further details: http://stcc2.virtualave.net/ Blues Colin Harris <[email hidden]> schreef in berichtnieuws Uni16.53997$[email hidden]... > STCC2 arrived yesterday and, although I haven't scoured forums, etc, yet, > has anyone got the same problems with it that I've seen, and possible > solutions? That is kinda odd, since the demo seemed pretty stable. I didn't have any sound problems...and since I have a LWFF I automatically chose the ABS brakes cuz everytime I touch my pedals I lock up the fronts. dave henrie "Blues DeVille" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:3a460a78$0$7951@reader5... > Seems STCC2 is just another one to add to the (imho way too long) list of > unfinished sims in the year 2000... > > I have a lot of engine-sound problems (stuttering). I didn't experience the soundproblem in the demo either, just in the full version, and it's only the enginesounds... Maybe it's system-independent, because i borrowed this game from my racingfriend and didn't have any soundproblem. Tried to re-install twice but that didn't help... I also have a LWFF and that works fine, no problems here. I know that the warez version of the game has those problems with engine sounds...the boxed game does not. However, many have reported problems if running with any other sound config than the DirectSound one, maybe that could be the problem in your case? Shouldn't the audience applause be considered a sound problem? ;-) /Carl Blues DeVille <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:3a4654ec$0$5456@reader3...
