While fooling around with my new sound card, I came across an old GPL bug that I had forgotten. I'm posting this hoping it might help some of the newbies. The problem is anti-lock brakes ("braking help") that won't go away -- even if the check box is toggled off! Go down any straight and jam on the brakes -- your front wheels should lock up. If they don't, you're experiencing this bug. It seems to happen when keyboard driving is selected, which automatically selects braking help and traction help, but it doesn't get switched off when you go back to joystick or wheel driving. I'm not a keyboard driver, but in my case my joystick port was disabled in the midst of my fiddling and GPL defaulted to keyboard driving. The solution for this bug is to go into the PLAYERS directory, into the individual player's name directory, and deleting the CONTROLS.CFG file. When you restart GPL, you'll be required to re-calibrate your controller and braking help should be fully and truly eradicated.
