F12K question (I know I'm a little late at getting this...) Sorry if
this has already been posted, but I've looked through the archives and
can't find an answer...
When running F12k, I get weird frame hiccups, when I look at the clock
on the steering wheel, the timing is odd, kinda hiccup/jumpy. I can't
figure out how to fix this. I've tried uninstall / reinstall, I've tried
changing the level on all the graphic settings - nothing? Any help would
be greatly appreciated.
Happy Holidays,
Justin
should have added that I am running:
PIII - 650
Diamond Steath III S540 - 32mb
64MB ram

megs of memory isn't enough and windows is accessing the swap file. Try
making sure all background programs are turned off. Press ctrl-alt-delete
ONCE to see what programs are running . You only need like explorer and
maybe systray running. All others can/should be shut down. Merry Xmas

these 'hickups' dissapear after about a lap or two, right? I have 64Mb of
RAM too, but F1CE2000 really needs 128Mb of RAM - at least for proper racing
(instead of hoptlapping).

Yes it's a lack of ram. F12k needs about more to get rid of the
stalls, maybe more than 128mb(?).
Matt
You guys are right about F1CS, but I was (am) still getting the same problem
with GP3 and I've got 256mb RAM!

I found this skipping to be a real problem in 1078 X 800 (or whatever)--I
assumed that it might have something to do with video memory bandwidth in my
Voodoo 3doo. Going back to 800 X 600 solved it. I was then able to up the
graphics details to make that setting look nicer.
But also check out the speed up patch at www.bhmotorsports.com (23 December
listing)--that helps a lot in many ways. Test it with one track and see
what you think.
