I got sick and tired of fighting The right-hand corner at
Glen, and decided to do something else for a change. Ended
up working with GPL screenshots and Photoshop for 3 hours.
You can check out the results at:
<URI: http://tazty.com/gpl/ >
The idea for the motion blurred Nurburgring shot came from
this group. Unfortunately I'm horrible with names, and too
lazy to check dejanews to see who it was that suggested
it, but thanks! I was also very much inspired by the water
color -filtered screenshots posted earlier. (It's almost 5AM
and I can't think straight - I guess it shows :-) ).
Anyways, feel free to (and please do) give any feedback
regarding the pictures. Of course you can also tell me how
to master that perticular corner at Glen to stop me from
bothering everyone with my doodle.

Nice work Jari,
Is it possible to make the motion blur front to back rather
than up/down?
I particular like the effect you have on variation 9, would
like to see this on the pic without motion blur, any chance
you can do this and post it in the same directory?
Cheers
Maxx

Thank you.Thanks Malcolm,
The up/down motion blur (for the car) comes from the fact that
the camera is stationary and only the surroundings and the
suspension are moving. And since it's the exact spot on the
Ring where the car is airborne, the suspension movement is
quite extreme. Still, I agree that it's a rather strange
looking effect.
I'll take a shot at making one like the nr 9 without the
blur. I'll also see if I can find TV camera patches that
would give more dramatic angles. That way I could get the
motion blur look as it should.

No, I haven't. Thanks for the tip! The cameras for the other tracks
look great as well.

Thanks Douglas! Unfortunately the current work doesn't really
reflect the true capabilities of the idea. It should look
_alot_ better if I can get it right (i.e. with a sideways
panning TV camera shot instead of a car-mounted camera).
I'll keep you posted with my experiments!

Thanks Peter. Which one did you find enjoyable? My personal
favorite has to be the nur_jump_variation_5-neon.jpg .. It's just
so .. eerie :-)
I have posted a couple of new pictures at
<URI: http://tazty.com/gpl/nurburgring_2/ >
They're all rather similar - I was trying to re-create the
nur_jump_variation_9-poster.jpg without the blur as Malcom
requested.

I may give it a go myself - might try and put a camera somewhere usefull to
try it with!!!

Jari,
Thanks for that, I've gone with No. 2 with grain.
Nice Work.
Maxx
PS. I concur with Peter, Jesse's ring TV cams are
first-class.
