RC2000 or Pro Rally 2001?

I liked CMR1 so I bought CMR2. It was disapointing. So I redownloaded the RC2000 demo. I liked the immersion of the game and to some extend the realism. I know of previous experience that real non-demo versions tend to differ from the demo so I like to know if I should buy RC2000 or if I should go for PR2001. The reviews for PR2001 are not that good. It looks good (like CMR2) but the realism is flawed (like CMR2). Any advise? Marc (Remove NOSPAM when required)

Sure. -avoid- Pro Rally 2001 -buy- RC2000. RC2000 still gives me huge fun after more than a year, and with the latest patch you can (more or less) change some of the physics to your liking. RC2000 may have it's flaws in the physics department, but imho it comes closest to real life rally so far. CMRII is a very nice arcade game if you're into that. I second Andre's opinion. RC2000 with the latest patch works well. Good graphics, long realistic stages (stages can be as long as 20 minutes - sweaty palms!). Physics may not be the best compared to some other sim racing games, but with some of the tweaks available in the RC community, you can change anything down to gravity, grips, etc. Note: I have not tried Pro Rally 2001 yet! I tried Rally Masters...not my cup of tea. Apologies to the RM camp. RM players preached that the RM physics is second to none. Go over to www.simracingnews.com and check out the forum for advices, tweaks, etc. Good luck, Styx ------------- "Andre Warringa" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > On Wed, 27 Dec 2000 12:57:51 +0100, "Marc" > <[email hidden]> wrote: > > >I liked CMR1 so I bought CMR2. rally champ 2000 is definately better that pro rally 2001, played pro rally 2001 got 1/2 way through the training and put it back in its box. Done the whole RC championship twice so far, and shortly to do it again, those long stages are awesome. Styx-Kee Glue <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:pgs26.13$[email hidden]...

Andre, Do you have a set of physics tweaks that you think works particularly well (or a URL to the same)? I love RC2000, but have been slightly wary of some of the suggested physics tweaks, as most I've seen mention going for a "CMR-type" feel. TIA! Kendt Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/

What I can remember is that I changed a couple of the values, but the best result I got was when I lessened the braking force. I'll post my values when I get home from work. "Autocar (April 5 2000) reviews the Subaru Impreza P1, which does 60mph to 0 in 2.5 seconds (70-0 in 46.3 metres). A rally car which is lighter with stronger brakes and grippier tyres will do better." David G FIsher "Andre Warringa" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...
