Is there a way to convert older controllers to USB via a connector?
I'd like to have my old ECCI-CDS and Thrustmaster F-16 FLCS and TQS in a USB
hub. If anyone knows if this is possible please let me know.

I would "guess' no. You can do the opposite tho...connect a usb to the
joyport with a proper usb>15pin plug. Somebody who knows something may
tell us different.

converter (the recommended solution for using the wheel with WinME
until MS fixes the joystick issues). Whether it would work in your
situation, especially with something like your Thrustmaster
flightstick, I have no idea.

from anyone who uses one though. I think one of the limitations is the
number of buttons it can handle.

you'd be better off with the L4: lower processor occupancy, no IRQ polling,
fewer jitters. USB is only slightly more efficient than a regular serial
port (altho slightly better than an analog game port). I have an ECCI
connected to a L4 and won't change until I move up to a legacy-free (no ISA
slot) mobo.

an ISA slot for it). I tried the Radio Shack USB converter. It was, in a
word, pathetic. I would be interested in trying others though. However,
since the release of DX8, I have had no jitter or other calibration issues
with the joystick port through my SB Live. YMMV.
