Hello, I just purchased a MS FF Wheel today and unfortunately, it didn't come with the drivers disk (it was the last one in the store or else I would've exchanged it). I downloaded the Sidewinder 3.02 and it recognized the wheel fine but I can't customize any of the settings (force feedback strength, split or single axis, etc..). I called Microsoft regarding a disc and they'll ship one out to me but they're back ordered and they expect it to be 4-6 weeks. My question is, does anyone know where I can get the latest software for this unit? For some bizarre reason, Microsoft only has the 3.02 base drivers on their website. Is there some site that might have such a thing on it? Any good MSFF wheel sites for exchanging settings and the like? Thanks, Michael M [email hidden]
I got a Sidewinder Wheel too and it came with a disc but it has Sidewinder ver. 4. It is strange that MS doesn't have the newest copy of their software online. I'd upload it to you but I'm on a 56k line :( and it's around 60MB. On Fri, 29 Dec 2000 00:54:30 GMT, "Jeneral" <[email hidden]> wrote:

check your e-mail , I can hook you up. Just need to know a few things, how you want me to prep the disc and how you want me to send it MN-male "Jeneral" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:ahR26.38541$[email hidden]... > Hello, > I just purchased a MS FF Wheel today and unfortunately, it didn't comewith > the drivers disk (it was the last one in the store or else I would've > exchanged it). Actually, it is the USB version and yes it is strange Microsoft won't post version 4.0 online. I think I know why after reading the docs that came with 4.0 (thanks to MN-male who FTP'ed 4.0 to me!). Well, it seems that version 4.0 is ONLY for USB devices. If you have any Microsoft gameport devices (I have an older Sidewinder gamepad) then you have to keep version 3.02 installed. Microsoft's thinking must be that most people would automatically upgrade to version 4.0 and find that their older devices don't work. Maybe they should have just called version 4.0 something different and this might not be an issue. Thanks, Michael M "daxe" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

If it's the Gameport version, 3.02 is the latest (and apparantly, the last) version of the drivers that will ever exist. FYI, they will not install/work with Win2K. -Larry "Jeneral" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:ahR26.38541$[email hidden]... > Hello, > I just purchased a MS FF Wheel today and unfortunately, it didn't comewith > the drivers disk (it was the last one in the store or else I would've > exchanged it). Rev 4 is only compatible with the _newer_ USB devices. It will not even recognize the older USB or gameport devices. They require the ancient 3.02 drivers. -Larry <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...
