You need to pull straight up on the knob to remove it (do not twist it).
Remove the screws from the old 8 speed plate, remove the 8-sp plate, put the
5-sp plate in it's place, replace the screws, slide the knob back on the
shaft.

I am kind of apprehensive about getting this new Act Labs tho; this means
I will be giving the Logitech w/CHpedals to my cousin to use when he
visits on weekends. He is already fast enough using the Thrustmaster T2
(single axis!) I borrowed off a friend for the LAN racing. Dammit, he
beat my PB at Monza the other day (1:29.somethingorother) and can somehow
do 3:22s at Spa also (3:24ish being my best)
