Just thought I'd let everyone know that I have prepared a "lesson" on how to use Winmip to create a new .car file for use in the N4 Demo. Hopefully this will help those who are having a little trouble accessing their paintjobs once they are completed. The lesson can be found at the FrogDog Racing web-site in the Cyber Racing School. Go to the Resources section. Hope this helps someone. -- Jeff Causey FrogDog Racing www.frogdogracing.com Home of the FrogDog Cyber Racing School Member of the raceserver.net network of servers
Nice Tutorial Jeff, I like the MADD car too :) How many colors can be used with N4? what about a palette? I'm certainly no painting expert, but as best I can tell the bmp's are 24-bit and have 16 million colors. Looks like pretty much anything is possible color wise. I've dabbled a little bit with PSP 7.0 and haven't tried changing color palettes or anything and thus far I have not had a problem importing them back into N4. As I tinker some more I'll try to note what I discover. Jeff "Houndog" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:UtO26.3411$[email hidden]...

The N4 palette is 16 million colors. <vbg> I've made 3 cars so far, and in PSP 7.... anything goes!! Yee Haa!! You can use any filters, effects, colors, etc. Much, much better than N3! -Paul Western States Racing League www.wsrl.n3.net "Houndog" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:UtO26.3411$[email hidden]...

Sorry, didn't know even small binaries weren't allowed here, but thanks for taking a minute out of your life to try to make me feel like an ass... I should drop a 5 meg binary on ya just for bein' a jerk... but I won't ;) -- -iFREEZn Jaim Friesen "Mika Takala" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:92iri1$b3d$[email hidden]... > nice binary.... 45kB worth of nothing to me..... > there is a group named alt.binaries.simulators.autos. > > -- > Mika Takala > [email hidden] > ICQ UIN 14314015 > "Jaim Friesen" <[email hidden]> kirjoitti viestiss > news:f_S26.52870$[email hidden]... > > 16 Million colors... sky's the limit. =) > > > > -- > > -iFREEZn > > Jaim Friesen > > > > > > > > >
A 45k Binary is not worthy of a flame, or feeling like an ass Jaim :) I am one of many which have learned a lot from your Nascar3 paint tutorial, I appreciate you taking the time to help others. http://apexwebs.net/ifreezn/rps/tutorial_intro.html Thanks also to Jeff Causey for his N4 Demo .car file tutorial http://www.frogdogracing.com/crs/fd_resources/create_n4_car_file.htm For those that have no interest in painting their own cars.. you are missing out on a most gratifying part of the game :) Once again thanks guys, painting has been sooo much easier!! so... if there was as little as ten people posting a binary file in this newsgroup every day, it would be very much slower for the modem users to catch up with outlook express (or any newsreader). I have the interest, I'm just lacking any sort of recognizable artistic skill :-) Beers and cheers (uncle) Goy http://www.theuspits.com http://www.teammirage.com "Those are my principles. If you don't like them I have others." --Groucho Marx--

LOL, welcome to my world :-) Beers and cheers (uncle) Goy http://www.theuspits.com http://www.teammirage.com "Those are my principles. If you don't like them I have others." --Groucho Marx--
I beg to differ on the 'no talent' portion... I have NO TALENT, but I have learned some of the technical aspects of PSP which covers up my lack of creativity and talent. Jeff > > >For those that have no interest in painting their own cars.. you aremissing

Well, I can use PSP, even Photoshop if pressed, it's the artistic bit that is sorely lacking on my end, I managed to complete a paintjob once, with a Budweiser girl on the hood and all, technically it wasn't a bad job if I say so myself, but it looked like crap :-) Beers and cheers (uncle) Goy http://www.theuspits.com http://www.teammirage.com "Those are my principles.
