Thanks for all the help on my sound probs, i thihnk i've pretty much sorted them now, only took 4-5 hours !!! Anyway .. more probs I've been running my ACT labs under W98SE with Alisons rec settings for some time : Overall Device Gain: 100% Spring Gain: 100% Damper Gain: 0% Default Spring: Always On is Unchecked In GPL's core.ini, I used these settings: force_feedback_damping = 2.000000 ; damping coefficient force_feedback_latency = 0.020000 ; latency (secs) max_steering_torque = 200.000000 ; torque = max device force These have been great, I get lots of subtle feel and could feel the tires when they lost grip. NOW, I've had to go Win ME/DX8 and the latest ACT labs WinME drivers, I can't feel anything in relation to what the tires are doing. Anyone have any advice?, maybe upgraded yourself and tweaked settings? I also Tried Gianni Tifosi's rec, these are undrivable with my setup and i did used to use them, so i think something has changed in ME/DX8/latest (ACT labs drivers). Maxx

Pierre, Havent a clue what that is, what/where is it? how do i turn it off? Also, what would you advise setting "Poll with interupts enabled" to? Also, I've never relaly understood what "Map Fore/Aft (Y-axis) forces to left/right (x-axis) forces" My Force RS is serial, any particular setting I should have on the serial port itself? I don't use the Force RS pedals, use MS pedals on USB. I find the problem is even worse now as i get spikes, and kick backs from the wheel at strang places. I had poll with interupts enabled, I've just switched it off and will try again. TIA Maxx

I have a LWFF myself, so the 'where' might be different. On mine, it's found in game controllers->properties->settings. You should find it where you set your wheel's properties (combined axis, force strength, etc). > Also, what would you advise setting "Poll with interupts enabled" to? It's enabled by default on my PC, I just left it there. > Also, I've never relaly understood what "Map Fore/Aft (Y-axis) forces > to left/right (x-axis) forces" I don't know, there's nothing like this in the LWFF properties. > My Force RS is serial, any particular setting I should have on the > serial port itself? My LWFF is hooked up to my USB port. Have you checked ACT Labs' webpage? They might have some pointers for you.
