Hi GPL'rs! I am testing my new system with GF2 and 3D3 patch, and I found some tracks having severe graphical problems. I have practically all the legal tracks (and I am not even interested in getting the stolen beta tracks...). There seems to be graphical problems with 6 American tracks, problems that did not occur in my old system of Voodoo2. The scenery in these 6 tracks is absurd: all kind of graphical items are "flying in the sky", the view is flickering, ..., practically those tracks are unusable... Kind of "LSD tracks", I guess... Those tracks are: Sears Point (old), Sears Point (new), Mid Ohio, California, Atlanta Speedway and Pocono. I have used Dave Noonan's converters and ICR2, N2 and N3. Where there were alternatives, I have chosen the newest version (so the order has been N3, N2, ICR2). And I also tried to use some of the Alison's graphical enchangements to some of the converted tracks. If I remember right, I couldn't make them work at all the cases. Does any of you find any common factor in those 6 tracks? Why just those are not working in 3D3? Is there anything I could do? All the other tracks work wonderfully! Those tracks are not the most important to me, but I kind of like the old Sears and also California... Any ideas? Arto

Someone mentioned that word was going around VROC about corrected texture sets that fixed the problems, but I never saw anyone actually post how to obtain them. Anyone have a pointer to the fixed textures? Kendt Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/
There is a known problem with the 'OLD' ICR2 tracks. They can only properly be displayed by a 3dfx card. You can also get the correct colors by choosing SOFTWARE instead of 3d acceleration, but that is slower and uglier. This problem affects those tracks when used with N3 and GPL. They are tracks that have been converted from the original ICR2/Cart Racing program. I believe it is possible to fix the incorrect or missing mips by hand, but to this date, I am unaware of anyone who has done it....Yet another reason to hate the demise of 3dfx. dave henrie "Arto Wikla" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:wikla.978218477@kanasaari...

Atlanta, California (and Ainrofilac :), both Sears' are now beautiful! (I do not have Bull and Surfers) Mid-ohio is still "psychedelic", but that is not so important, though. Happy New Year! Arto

Yes, I did indeed. And after I took all the "new" mips away, Mid-Ohio is OK! Thanks again! (This is just what I meant saying "I love r.a.s."!) >Happy New Year! The same! And thanks again: thanks to you I have those about 5 tracks working well again (better than ever) after my system update! Arto
