Hi,
My friend has recently upgraded his PC to a PIII 800 on a Jetway 993
board with 256 mb pc100 ram, and an ATI Radeon VIVO DDR 64 video card.
This basic setup should give a constant 36 fps yes? Well he gets as low
as 9 - 12fps starting from the rear of a grid. As far as I know he has
tried running in openGL, rastizer, and D3D all with the same results.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Glenn

Try the ATi special purpose (beta) drivers with Papy's D3D rasterizer and
set GPL for Direct3D7. My PIII933/384MB PC133/ATi Radeon 32DDR/W2K Pro
system is a solid 36fps (full details, full mirrors) during "training". I
haven't checked framerates during a race yet.
Has your friend followed the D3D install instructions and modified the INI
file? If so try changing the setting of z-buffer. My old ATi Rage Fury
reacted significantly to either a 1 or 0 in that setting.
