I wish I knew when YOU would die! Then I could plan on not seeing these
f*cking stupid posts.
Re: Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life: no one can come to the Father(God)(in Heaven), but by me." (John 14:6) This means that if you die without trusting in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour you will die in your sins and be forever separated from the love of God in a place called Hell. The Holy Bible descibes Hell as a place of eternal torment, suffering, pain and agony for all those who have rejected Jesus Christ. The good news is that you can be sure you are going to Heaven when this life is over if you allow Jesus Christ to save you today. Do not wait until later to be saved because you do not know exactly when you will die. [ Posted by: RonaldGrossi3811@yahoo.com on May 13, 2005 ] [ 4:10:47 pm ]

Jesus said, "I am the way . . . "
----------
He also said, "Before Abraham was, I am." So this "I am" is clearly not
his physical body.
He also said "the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand", and "the Kingdom of
Heaven is within you."
The sayings need to be understood in their spiritual import to have
real significance.
What most people resist, is having a literal interpretation imposed
upon them.
Jesus also said, "seek and ye shall find" - so it is those who are
seeking that would be interested.
Might be helpful, if you learn to recognize, the guy wanting help with
his carburetor may not be open to spiritual counsel at that moment.
------------
However, there is a practical, spiritual side to scripture which is a
very present help, and even logical when correctly understood.
Throughout history, there have been exoteric and esoteric teachings,
that is the external appearances, and the hidden inner meaning.
It is an understanding heart that is required - not an outward
appearance.
"Cast not your pearls before swine, lest they turn and rend you."
Anyway, there is a fascinating practical side to spiritual
understanding that heals and brings enlightenment and forms the basis
of all world religion and undergirds the inspiration of the founders of
the various movements and orders.
-------------
This has been a life long fascination for me. Like a great puzzle,
where is the understanding of the mysteries of Life?
-------------
Rather than writing a book length answer with bibliography and building
up from the fundamentals to the advanced ideas, suffice it to say, that
gaining a sense of peace and calm can have great results when working
on the car.
In seeking to appreciate and understand the way things come apart and
go together, the process flows rather effortlessly.
Kind of like getting one's "self" out of the way.
This is like when one becomes absorbed in an activity, and time passes
unnoticed.
The key is asking for guidance, and then listening inwardly.
It is rather amazing the way the process of automotive work can unfold.
In a sense, we all do this when we fabricate a special tool or
procedure, or speculate how to handle awkward access to a part or
connection.
I you have the time, this can really be an interesting approach if you
like mechanical operations.
Keeping anger at bay, and a contemplative attitude transforms the
process. You clean parts as you go, wire brush the bolt threads, use
solvent on a rag to clean mating surfaces, seeking to express
perfection.
When the car is in perfect mechanical condition there's a certain inner
satisfaction.
I never feel entirely comfortable with a vehicle until I've personally
been through it, correcting the errors one often finds from previous
mechanics working under pressure or with a degree of carelessness.
Indeed, one can enter the "kingdom of heaven" in the garage.
Leaving the body doesn't really change things.
"serve God with joyfulness, and gladness of heart, for the abundance of
all..."
"lay up these words in your heart and in your soul . . . that your days
may be as the days of heaven upon the earth."
Anyway, at least I realize that most of you probably don't give a hoot
about spiritual understanding when fixing the car, but it is a
fascinating and most important field of study.
That's probably what the original poster was trying to convey in his
own overtly insistent way.

. . . . which takes a lot more thought to understand, and reaches
further
to the roots of man's spiritual dichotomy.

Isn't there some place where Jesus denies spammers entry to heaven?
Romans 4:2, "Verily, I say unto you, spammers shall rot in hell." Something
like that?

In any event, to say that faith in Jesus is a requirement for salvation
would automatically disqualify anyone who lived before Christ. Why would
God do that?
Such a thing is senseless, as we a are all his children (God being outside
of time, when Jesus says "all", he must necessarily include "all" past,
present and future).
Consequently, this passage is misunderstood. My belief is that Christ's
death and our salvation is a free gift, AVAILABLE TO ALL, whether we get the
word and specifically accept him or not.

This is the full motto of the University of Glasgow: "Ego sum via,
veritas vitaque; nemo ad Patrem veniet sed per me" It is reduced on
the University's coat of arms to "Via Veritas Vita"
