Here's a challenge (or it might only be plain stupid), find a newsgroup which is not nostalgic in it's nature, where the only main topic is a product over two years old. Ooh noo, I wouldn't dare say anything is better than GPL, however there are other sims that people buy and use (notice the absence of the word 'play' there). I'm just surprised that as only 40,000 copies were sold originally compared to lord knows how many Rally Championship's, Colin McRae 2's, Need for Speed XXX's and so on everyother post is GPL. Anyway I only did it to see what reaction I would get, so far it's been pretty sensible. Andi. Not to sound racist or anti-semitic, but I think the GPLness of this newsgroup is because we are all waiting for the NEXT great thing. We are like the Jews who are still waiting for a messiah. We have seen the light via GPL and while some titles come close, most fall into the pile of pretenders. So GPL gets an EXTREMELY inordinate ammount of newsgroup topics devoted to it because there just ain't nothing better to talk about yet.. But just try and imagine....just think how great it will be....when someday...somebody codes a product that surpasses GPL. Won't that be something? amen dave henrie oy vey...
