While doing a bit of shopping in town, i saw that in Game (a uk software
shop), GPL has been released as a "Sierra Original" (or was it "Sierra
Classic"?)
Anyway, i'm not sure if this release will have the printed manuals, it
might have them as pdf files.
The price?
9.99 uk pounds. I didn't see it in Electronics Boutique though.

It's Sierra Originals.
No, you don't get the printed manuals, but it and Steve Smiths 4-wheel
drift are on the CD, I think as pdf's.
You do get the 1.2 patch on the CD as far as I can remember.

I have a "Sierra Originals" UK edition with printed manuals! but without
patch. Guess I'm just lucky. :-) So ask the shop if you may open a box
or check the weight - my box felt like it had manuals in it. Also, it
was 4 cm (= 1 inch) thick. Paid 8 for it here in Denmark i August.
Cheers,
Jens
You can get the retail copy at this site. $24 for overseas shipping though?

Why oh why didn't I click?! They have sold out now!! I've ordered it
anyway, just have to wait a couple of weeks.
I guess I wanted some of the latest games to go with my shiny new PC
(w/Geforce Ultra!) and can a game over 2 years old be any good?!
(kidding).
Only problem is I have a Sidewinder FF2 joystick, that any good for the
game until I become a total addict and have to get the wheel?
I have fond memories of Indy 500 on the Amiga, used to lower the gear
ratios on the middle performance car (can't remember the name) so it
would scream well into the redzone in top gear and beat the pants of
all the other cars for 3 or 4 laps then bang, no engine!
Being older now maybe I can drive a bit more sensibly this time...

Yeah, I started on a ChProducts stick. Used the throttle slider
and just pushed the stick forward to brake. Even learned
dual axis braking with it. So you can certainly appreciate the
sim with a stick, but a wheel is much better.

Then I recommend the Ferrari. :)

What's GPLEA? I went to http://start.at/KOTR and they have some stuff
there. Is it just a widespread group of racers making new cars and
tracks and such?
Also, VROC? Needed for online play? Not that I'll be online racing till
I get the basics down.
Cheers,
Pat.
