Hi all, long time no post, but I visit every day, and I've finally decided to give my daughters the old box, and get myself a new rig, with specs something like plll @ 1.0G, 128m pc133 RAm, harddrive galore, Soundblaster Live! sound card, and some sort of Geforce card, I see a lot of you folks using Mx and GTS cards, my question is are there tangible benefits to my purchasing an Ultra card(64meg DDR + digital video out) at it's premium price, for the purpose of playing N4 and GPL? I'll willinly pop for the extra cash to get the Ultra, if it can be shown to have an advantage. Any experiences with this card in a similar spec computer? Thanks for taking the time, cya at the track, Ed

I'd suggest getting an Athlon 800 - 1200 save your money for 256MB RAM it's pretty cheap these days. The Ultra is quite a bit faster than the regular GF2 ~50% I think but costs about $400 so you might get the MX and wait for the NV20 which is the next Nvidia chip. Just don't get a cheap motherboard and get 300Watts of power if you're going to upgrade to multiple drives. Check out http://www.tomshardware.com/ there's a new article that'll break it down for you.
