I just got my 1.0G Athlon T-Bird running today!!! :) I'm happy as hell
now that I can run GPL with EVERYTHING maxed out and all the high end
graphics installed and still get 36fps at the back of the grid with 19 Ai at
Monza!! WOOHOO!!
Anyhow. I downloaded the N4 demo and installed it. I have it set to
run D3D, 640x480 at 16 colors. If I run this with the 3D sounds I can run
and run and run but all I get are the extra sounds. IE crashing, skidding,
ect.. But I don't get the engine sound. Running it without the 3D sound I
get the engine and all others but N4 freezes or drops me back to the desk
top (I guess depends on how it feels at the time).

nothing in the sys tray.
GPL runs fine maxed out.
any suggestions comments?
There are problems with the sound in the N4 demo that I've heard and
experienced so whatever problem you're having will likely be fixed for the
final version of N4. You might try increasing the max simultaneous sounds
option
I have the SB Live Value and it works fine except that when I hit a wall
the engine noise stops for a second or two. This only happens in the N4
demo.
