i have cable. can i race against someone that has a modem? it asked for a phone number....
Cable modems weren't around when Nascar2 was made. I would be REEEELLY suprised if you got it to work. I would say Nascar 3 or 4 would be your only hope. dave henrie btw...you still should have a modem right? Most systems still do...try using that...it ain't cable, but if you insist on N2, that might be your only option. Man, it's been a while since I've fired up N2.. is there an option to connect via TCP/IP ? That would do the trick.. you would ned to know your friend's IP address. Wow, been a long time since I raced N2 :) If I Remember Correctly, it supports two multiplayer options: modem-to-modem and IPX network. So you have two options. One, hook up a telephone modem and call your opponent directly. Two, you and your buddy get a IPX->TCP/IP program, such as Kali (http://www.kali.net) or Kahn (http://kahn.descent4.org) and use that to race over the internet. The second option is the only one that will work over your cable modem.
