Re: I want to ask you the most important question of your life. The question is: Are you saved? It is not a question of how good you are, nor if you are a church member, but are you saved? Are you sure you will go to Heaven when you die? The reason some people don't know for sure if they are going to Heaven when they die is because they just don't know. The good news is that you can know for sure you are going to Heaven. May 22, 2005 1:40:10 pm

As stated today in a letter in the NY Times, "[t]he existence of God isa theory. [The evolution] theory has libraries full of supporting data, while the other lacks a single verifiable fact in support." Or, as Sam Harris put it in his book "The End of Faith", any individual believing in the stuff put forth under the name of Christianity (or any other religion) would be considered nuts and institutionalized. Why is that stuff any better because a huge but cockeyed organization teaches it?

But without baptism, you are not saved. Read your Bible again and spam us again later.

When you look at this "data," you find all manner of hocus-pocus going on. Evolution is as much faith and religion as any other religion on the planet. It was never about science. > > Or, as Sam Harris put it in his book "The End of Faith", any individual > believing in the stuff put forth under the name of Christianity (or any > other religion) would be considered nuts and institutionalized. But, with most like-minded people of your stripe, including the _New York Times_ Islam is an exception. That, my dear is utter rubbish. Please post the names of any major university or credible center of learning that would substantiate such a claim. In the meantime, consider the prospect that Darwinian theories have nothing to do with religion and theology has nothing to do with Darwin's theories. Religion shouldn't enter the field of biology and genetics any more than people in mathematics should enter the fields of poetry. I'll promise not to post anything about heating and air conditioning and you should endeavor not to post things outside your fields of expertise. And, no, parrotting some ignorant, uneducated preacher doesn't qualify you to be an expert outside HVAC. Do you think people who can respond to logic stoop to your petty [morons] name-calling? Did "Einstein, Freud, Newton, Shakespeare, Machiavelli or Jesus Christ convince people of their ideas by calling them "morons"? Or are you under the impression that if you call other people "morons" somehow that will save you from being a moron? All you're saying is that you don't know anything about science or the scientific method. The thing that Darwin lacked to prove his theory were the Mendelian theories which weren't widely published or recognized until the 1900s some 35 years after Darwin's first studies and many years after his death in 1881. While Gregor Mendel died in 1884 - his works were not widely known until the 1900s. Many theologians vigorously attacked Darwin's ideas though they knew nothing about biology, less about genetics and nothing about Mendel's studies that would explain much of Darwin's conjectures. Once the theologians rejected Darwin's works, they were fond of repeating what had been written in the past and were loathe to investigate new developments as they were revealed. The above does not include Catholic and Jewish scholars who readily accepted the scientific explanations regarding Darwinism as they were revealed. Darwin's _Origin of the Species_ published in 1859 caused little furor among the theologians, but his _Descent of Man_ published in 1871 caused a major upheaval in the world of theology as well as among traditionalist scholars at that time. Of course modern discoveries such as DNA have solidified Darwin's theories in spite of the fact such advancements are ignored by fundamentalist theologians who continue to repeat arguments written by naysayers prior to the wide acceptance of Mendel's studies. Of course the major logical fallacy of theologians is that they fail to see that perhaps the Supreme Being chose evolution as His method of creation. Evolution was perhaps the greatest conflict between science and theology since the publication of the works of Galileo Galilei, Nicolaus Copernicus and Tycho Brahe. In article etc. etc. etc. You really like wasting time on this dodo, don't you?
You OBIVOUSLY don't know much about dave (aka HVACfella and a dozen other webtv nics) He once proudly proclaimed (in his brilliance) that the Sun is powered by Nitrogen fusing into Hydrogen, a fact that even 6th grade students know is just a bit off base.. A better example of a fundy moron will never exist
Fantastic followup post.. well written! Thanks for the overview of a very interesting subject... Peace "alohacyberian" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:U8_ke.249275$[email hidden]...
