Just tried the Pantsring. What a hoot. But it started me to thinking.
What about a track that just goes in a straight line? Imagine taking off from
the grid at Monza, except the track would be, say, five cars wide and the
first turn never came? Just drafting and slingshotting. Back and forth.
Again and again.
Maybe hilly, ups and downs, who knows. And because its a computer track you
could still have a start/finish line to count laps.
With the way people are churning out tracks, this sounds like it would be
relatively easy, and, I have to tell you, from my perspective, a lot of fun.
Just a thought.

Great idea, Mike, but I think it's already been done; it's called Avus. Get
it here: http://www.fortunecity.com/athena/empowerment/134/index.html

sounds good in theory, but racers would all opt for the faster cars, those
who've got the hang of fast starts would always win and those left at the
back would see that they had no chance of catching up, driving without
holding on to the steering wheel, no corners....yawn
do you ever see avus in vroc?
I havnt
good for practicing drafting tho

This is basically Avus. The only challenge is remembering to wake up
when it's time to brake:-)
